President John Dramani Mahama has formally requested a detailed report from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) concerning the current state of football in the country.
This request comes in the wake of Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, a development that has reportedly displeased the President.
According to sources, the GFA has prepared a comprehensive 75-page document that delves into various aspects of football management, development, and the challenges currently facing the sport in Ghana.
The future of Black Stars coach Otto Addo is also under scrutiny. Decisions regarding his tenure are expected to be made following discussions between the GFA and President Mahama, as the new administration seeks to revitalize and improve the nation’s football landscape.
The GFA is poised to present this extensive report to President Mahama, aiming to provide a clear overview of the current state of football in Ghana and to outline strategies for future development and success.
Looking ahead, the Black Stars are scheduled to commence their campaign in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
