Ghanaian forward Prince Kwabena Adu will miss Viktoria Plzeň’s UEFA Europa League away fixture against Hungarian side Ferencváros after being left out of the squad for the trip to Budapest.
The Czech club travelled to Hungary ahead of Thursday’s European encounter without the 23-year-old attacker, who was not included in the travelling squad announced on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Viktoria Plzeň confirmed the travelling squad through its official social media channels but did not publicly state the reason for Adu’s omission.
Reports from Czech media suggest that the Ghanaian forward’s absence is linked to disciplinary concerns rather than an injury or illness. However, the club has not officially confirmed those reports.
Adu’s omission comes as Viktoria Plzeň prepare for another important test in the Europa League, with the team hoping to collect points against Ferencváros.
The Ghanaian forward, who joined Viktoria Plzeň from Ukrainian club Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in August 2024, has been part of the Czech side’s attacking options since arriving at the club.
His absence means he will be unable to contribute on the pitch as Plzeň seek a positive result in Hungary.
Viktoria Plzeň coach Radoslav Kováč declined to elaborate on the situation, saying Adu’s absence was a technical decision and that the team was focused on the match.
The development will raise questions about the forward’s immediate role at the club, although further details about his situation have yet to be officially communicated.
