Black Stars forward Prince Osei Owusu continued his fine scoring form in Major League Soccer, finding the net for the second consecutive match, although CF Montreal suffered a 2–1 defeat to Orlando City on Saturday evening.
The 29-year-old striker drew Montreal level in the 24th minute, rising highest in the box to power home a well-placed header at Inter&Co Stadium after the hosts had taken an early lead.
Orlando had opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Duncan McGuire, before Owusu’s header restored parity for the Canadian side. However, the home team regained control shortly afterwards when Martin Ojeda struck in the 31st minute, a goal that ultimately proved decisive.
Owusu’s latest strike means he has now scored two goals in four MLS appearances this season. His first goal of the campaign came in Montreal’s 3–0 victory over New York Red Bulls at Sports Illustrated Stadium last week.
The Ghana international finished last season as CF Montreal’s leading scorer with 13 league goals, underlining his importance to the club’s attack.
Owusu, who made his Black Stars debut in November 2025 during the Kirin Cup, is expected to be included in Otto Addo’s squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Germany and Austria later this month.
