Former Ghana and Hearts of Oak striker, Prince Tagoe, has offered advice to Afriyie Barnieh, the captain of the Black Meteors to resolve any lingering issues with the Phobians in order to rediscover his lost form.
Barnieh, who led the Black Satellites to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021, had an impressive season with Hearts of Oak in 2020/21, winning both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup. His performances earned him a spot in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 World Cup.
However, Barnieh’s career has experienced a setback since his move to FC Zurich in Switzerland, where he has struggled to secure regular playing time.
The 22-year-old has recently suffered massive criticism following the Black Meteors atrocious showing at the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where they have already suffered an early exit and returned to Ghana.
However, Tagoe believes that in order for Barnieh to regain his top form, he should address any unresolved issues with Hearts of Oak and find a resolution.
Tagoe emphasizes that the manner in which Barnieh departed the club was not ideal, and therefore, resolving any lingering matters with the club would be beneficial for his career.
” I always say, how Barnie left the club was not good, his goodbye to the club was not nice so for me, if he wants to play on top of his game again, then he should come and settle any issue with the club if any,” he said on Angel TV.
