Former Ghanaian international Prince Tagoe did not hold back in his assessment of the current situation at Hearts of Oak.
Expressing a combination of frustration and disappointment, Tagoe openly criticized the team’s players, labeling them as “lazy” during a recent interview.
Hearts of Oak suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat against Medeama SC in their matchweek 31 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Phobians managed to score a consolation goal through Salifu Ibrahim’s penalty in the 33rd minute.
“I strongly believe there should be a major overhaul of the playing squad at the end of the 2022/23 season. This is because there are several players in the current team who do not deserve to wear the Rainbow jersey,” Tagoe expressed his opinion on Angel TV.
“I have my reasons for saying this. The leadership of Hearts of Oak pays the players well, and they receive substantial salaries every month. However, they are simply lazy. Some players should be released, while others should be loaned out to other clubs,” he added.
Hearts of Oak currently sits in 7th place on the Ghana Premier League table with 45 points.
