Professor JK Mintah has been confirmed as the new Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) at a press conference held in Kumasi on Wednesday.

This announcement comes following the departure of the German tactician, Bernhard Lippert, from the role.

Prof. Mintah’s appointment marks a transition from his previous position as the Head of Coaching Education at the FA’s Technical Directorate, where he has garnered extensive experience and expertise in football development.

With a distinguished background in coaching education and a deep understanding of the Ghanaian football landscape, Prof. Mintah is poised to lead the technical aspects of the sport in the country to new heights.

His tenure as the Head of Coaching Education has been characterized by a commitment to nurturing talent at all levels of the game, from grassroots to elite levels. Under his leadership, the FA’s coaching programs have witnessed significant enhancements, equipping coaches with the knowledge and skills needed to drive player development and tactical innovation.

As the new Technical Director, Prof. Mintah is expected to spearhead initiatives aimed at furthering the advancement of football in Ghana. This includes refining coaching methodologies, fostering talent identification and scouting networks, and strengthening partnerships with domestic and international stakeholders.

His appointment comes at a crucial juncture for Ghanaian football, with the national team aiming to reclaim its status as a powerhouse on the African continent and beyond. With Prof. Mintah at the helm of technical affairs, there is optimism that the GFA will chart a course towards sustained success and excellence in the sport.
