Promising FC Nordjaelland forward, Ernest Nuamah, has received his first call-up to the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, for their upcoming AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
The highly anticipated match will take place on June 18 at the Stade Kianja Berea in Antananarivo as part of the 2023 AFCON fifth round. Ghana’s coach, Chris Hughton, has selected a squad of 24 players for this crucial game, and Nuamah has earned his place among them.
Ghana currently leads Group E in the AFCON qualifiers, accumulating 8 points thus far. The team has recorded victories against Madagascar and Angola, as well as draws against Central African Republic and Angola in the initial four fixtures.
After the clash against Madagascar, the Black Stars will wrap up their qualifiers with a final home game against the Central African Republic in September.
There is mounting excitement as Ghana aims to maintain its impressive form and secure qualification for next year’s tournament in Ivory Coast.
Nuamah’s inclusion in the squad comes on the back of his excellent performances, having scored an impressive 15 goals and provided four assists in all competitions this season.
