Ghanaian attacking midfielder Christopher Antwi-Adjei has described Bochum‘s 4:2 win against Bayern Munich as “pure madness.”
Antwi-Adjei scored his first goal for Bochum in the shock win against the German champions last Saturday afternoon.
“Pure madness!”, as Antwi-Adjei raved about the match on BILD TV. And further: “With a little luck and a few dream goals you win such a game.”
Curiously, despite his top performance, no Bayern star wanted his jersey after the game, as he revealed. A big consolation: “I scored my first goal for Bochum in this jersey. I’ve taken that home with me now.”
He curled past deputising goalkeeper Sven Ulreich for his first goal in 19 Bundesliga appearances to draw Bochum level after Bayern had taken the lead through Robert Lewandowski.
A penalty by ex-Brighton striker Jurgen Locadia then sparked a burst of three goals in six minutes before the break.
Cristian Gamboa and Gerrit Holtmann were also on target before Lewandowski pulled one back late on.
That was not enough to avoid a fourth loss in 22 league games this season for Bayern, who are six points clear at the top.
Bochum returned to the German top flight this term after an 11-year absence and came into the game 11th in the table, without a win in three league games.
Antwi-Adjei, who has been capped once by Black Stars, joined the club in July 2021.
