Rahim Ibrahim is looking forward to a new chapter in his career after signing a four-year contract with Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava. The 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder joined from AC Trencin, a club where he gained valuable experience in Slovakian football.
Excited about his new journey, Ibrahim shared his thoughts on playing for Slovan Bratislava.
“I am very excited to play for Slovan Bratislava. It has always been an experience for me when I played at Tehelné pole, the stadium is really beautiful.”
Ibrahim is eager to compete in a strong squad and prove himself to the fans. He is confident in his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively.
“I want to fight for my place in the strong competition that Slovan has and please the fans. I prefer to play in the number eight position in the midfield with offensive and defensive roles. I also try to support the team’s offensive efforts. I really appreciate that Slovan wanted me, and I want to give my best.”
Having played 98 matches in Slovakian football, the former Accra Lions midfielder brings a lot of experience to his new team. His move to Bratislava also includes Artus Gadjos joining AC Trencin on loan until the end of the season.
Slovan Bratislava’s general director, Ivan Kmotrík Jr., expressed his happiness over the signing, revealing that the club had been tracking Ibrahim for a long time.
“I am really happy that we managed to secure the transfer of Rahim Ibrahim. We have been interested in him for a long time. Again, he is a player who is proven by our competition.”
He also praised the smooth negotiations with Trencin, highlighting the good relationship between the clubs.
“I would like to emphasize that we have once again managed to find common ground with Trenčín on the terms of the transfer, which I perceive extremely positively. In the past, we have encountered problems in this area in Slovakia. I am all the more pleased that Trenčín approached the negotiations professionally, and we also found agreement on the transfer fee.”
With this move, Rahim Ibrahim now has the opportunity to play at the highest level in Slovakia and help Slovan Bratislava continue their success.
