Rayo Vallecano’s defender, Abdul Mumin, has secured his debut call-up to the Ghanaian national squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Chris Hughton’s decision underscores Mumin’s outstanding performance in the Spanish top flight, where he has made four appearances and scored a crucial goal.

Mumin’s journey to the international stage has been remarkable. After refining his skills at the renowned Right to Dream academy, he made a pivotal move to Rayo Vallecano on September 1, 2022, following a successful stint with Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimarães, in a transfer deal valued at a staggering 1,500,000 million euros.

Ghanaian fans are eagerly anticipating Mumin’s impact as they confront formidable challenges against Madagascar and Comoros in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

This call-up not only attests to Mumin’s prowess on the field but also serves as a beacon of hope for a nation yearning for World Cup glory.
