Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey might make a return to Spain in the winter transfer window amid reported interest from La Liga side Real Sociedad.
The UEFA Champions League participants are reportedly gearing up for an ambitious bid for the 30-year-old Arsenal midfielder.
Partey has faced challenges with fitness since his move to the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020.
The former Rojiblancos star is currently sidelined with an injury, potentially ruling him out for the remainder of the year due to the setback.
According to Fihajes, Real Sociedad views Partey as an ideal addition to the club due to his extensive experience in La Liga.
Before his move to England, he played a key role in Atletico’s La Liga triumph and UEFA Europa League victory, reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League twice.
Since Declan Rice’s arrival, Partey has been deployed as a right-back, indicating Mikel Arteta’s preference for the Englishman in midfield.
Real Sociedad might need to invest around €35 million to secure Partey, a fee the club is reportedly willing to pay for their primary target in the winter transfer window.
Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also expressed interest in the Black Stars midfielder.
