Real Tamale United (RTU) delivered a determined performance on Sunday afternoon, securing a 1-0 victory against Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League.
In this Week 31 encounter, RTU hosted the Accra-based team at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex.
Both sides battled fiercely for three crucial points, creating several scoring opportunities during the first half, but neither managed to find the net, resulting in a 0-0 scoreline at halftime.
The second half saw RTU intensify their efforts. Their persistence paid off when Alhassan Mankuyeli scored, breaking the deadlock and giving RTU the lead.
Despite increased pressure from Legon Cities FC, RTU maintained their advantage, ultimately securing the win at full time.
This victory, however, still leaves RTU at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League table, while Legon Cities sit 11th.
RTU faces a daunting challenge ahead, needing to win all four remaining games to have a chance at avoiding relegation.
