Real Valladolid have reached an agreement to sign Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Celta Vigo center-back has struggled for game time this season, and with Valladolid sitting at the bottom of the La Liga table, they see him as a potential solution to bolster their defense.
Aidoo has had a difficult season, making just one appearance and playing only one minute of football. His last La Liga outing was on September 15, 2024, when he featured briefly in Celta Vigo’s 3-1 win against Real Valladolid, coming on for the final minute of the game.
With Valladolid desperate for reinforcements, they have turned to the 29-year-old defender in a bid to strengthen their backline and improve their survival chances.
Before completing the move, Aidoo must first pass a medical amid concerns over his fitness. The Ghanaian center-back has been recovering from a serious Achilles tendon injury, which sidelined him in October 2023.
Valladolid will be hoping that Aidoo’s arrival can provide much-needed stability as they fight to turn their season around and escape relegation.
