Red Star Belgrade are reportedly considering a move to bring Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari back to the club in 2025.
The 26-year-old departed the Serbian champions last summer for Major League Soccer side Austin FC in a transfer valued at €7 million, signing a contract that runs through the end of 2027. But since his switch to the United States, Bukari has found it difficult to recapture the form he displayed in Europe, scoring just two goals and providing three assists in 24 appearances for the Texas-based team.
His underwhelming numbers have led to growing speculation that Austin FC may be open to letting him leave, potentially clearing the path for a return to Belgrade. Bukari previously made a strong impression at Red Star, where he netted 25 goals and supplied 20 assists in 78 matches across all competitions.
He first arrived at Crvena zvezda in July 2022 from Belgian club Gent in a deal worth €3 million. During his time in Serbia, Bukari emerged as a key figure in the club’s attack, earning recognition for his pace and ability to influence matches.
With Red Star looking to reinforce their forward line ahead of the new season, Bukari’s successful history with the team makes him a compelling option as they prepare for both domestic and European challenges.
