Hearts of Oak has relocated its home games to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium due to the temporary closure of the Accra Sports Stadium, according to Onua Sports.

This decision is a result of the Accra Sports Stadium being rented out for events during the upcoming Christmas period.

As a consequence, the highly anticipated Ghana Premier League match between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, initially scheduled for Accra on December 8, will now take place in Kumasi. Despite being the away team, Hearts of Oak will play their Matchday 13 game as the home side at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Alhaji Brimah Moro Akambi, a board member of Hearts of Oak, confirmed this relocation on November 20, noting that the team will continue playing at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the remainder of the year. The club is currently in 14th place on the league table with 12 points.

Additionally, on November 14, Hearts of Oak announced the departure of coach Martinus Koopman and appointed Assistant Abdul Rahim Bashiru to handle the team temporarily until a permanent appointment is made. The possibility of considering other venues after 2023 has also been acknowledged by the club.
