According to reports from Kessben Sports, there are indications that MTN Ghana, a prominent telecommunication company, might return as the new headline sponsor for Asante Kotoko.
If the deal is finalized, MTN Ghana is expected to complete the Kotoko training grounds project, which has been ongoing for a decade.
The telecommunications giant had previously supported the project in 2013 under Dr. KK Sarpong’s administration, contributing GH¢150,000 towards the completion of the Club’s administration block and training field at Adarko-Jachie near Kumasi.
Over the course of three years, MTN Ghana had contributed a total of GH¢375,000 to the construction of the project. However, due to changes in the management of the club over the years, the project remained unfinished until now.
In 2020, MTN Ghana had suspended its sponsorship deal with the Kumasi-based football club. However, with the recent visit of Asantehene, the life patron of the club, to the abandoned project along with the circles’ leadership of the club, an assurance was made to complete the project.
Upon completion, the project will boast facilities such as a gymnasium, dressing rooms, clinic, laundry, conference rooms, a shop, and offices, all designed to enhance the administration of the club.
This potential sponsorship deal could mark a significant step forward for Asante Kotoko, and the club’s fans eagerly await an official confirmation.
