Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and his entire technical staff have reportedly gone five months without receiving their salaries, according to sources from Sportsworldghana.com.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is said to be in discussions with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to resolve the payment delays and avoid potential controversy. However, no official explanation has been provided for the delay in payments, which coincides with a challenging period for the national team.
The news has sparked public concern, especially given the criticism aimed at Otto Addo following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. Ghana finished at the bottom of Group F with just three points after six games, recording three losses and three draws.
Group F saw Angola and Sudan secure qualification, leaving Ghana and Niger out of the tournament. This marks the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars have failed to qualify for AFCON, further intensifying scrutiny of the team’s leadership and performance.
Otto Addo’s salary is reportedly set at $50,000, per Sportsworldghana.com sources.
