Asante Kotoko may face the prospect of being without their key midfielder, Richmond Lamptey, in Round 4 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Lamptey recently played for the Porcupines in a friendly match against Namoro Academy, held at the Paa Joe Park on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, his participation was cut short due to an injury he sustained during the game, necessitating a substitution.
The extent of Lamptey’s injury will be assessed on Thursday to determine its severity. If the injury turns out to be worse than anticipated, Lamptey could potentially miss Asante Kotoko’s upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture against Accra Lions FC, scheduled for Monday, October 9.
In the meantime, Asante Kotoko emerged victorious in their friendly against Namoro Academy with a convincing 4-0 win.
Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is eager for his players to find the back of the net in the upcoming game against Accra Lions, aiming to secure their first league victory of the new season.
