Former Ghana midfielder Mohammed Rabiu, has insisted that the personality of Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo never scared Black Stars players during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
According to the former international, although Portugal defeated Ghana with Ronaldo netting the match winner, his fame never affected performance of the Ghana team.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s late winner after Asamoah Gyan’s equalizer wasn’t enough to send his side through to the World Cup last-16 as they crashed out alongside Ghana in Brasilia.
“It was a great moment to play against a top player like Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2014 world cup,” He told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“Let me say that his (Ronaldo) personality did not sacre any of our players before the game in 2014 even though we had huge respect for him based on his achievement.
“We only gave him that needed respect off the pitch after the game.
“My best moment in 2014 was our game against Germany. Though we didn’t win but our game plan went well.” Rabiu Mohammed concluded.
