Crystal Palace’s manager, Roy Hodgson has refused to judge Rak Sakyi with the youngster’s performance in their match day 9 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United.
The Eagles on Saturday, October 21, 2023, where hammered 4-0 at the Saint James Park by Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United team.
Rak Sakyi was introduced in the 59th minute to replace Jean-Philippe Mateta but he couldn’t really influence the game as Newcastle United were too strong on the day for the Eagles.
When asked about Sakyi’s performance together with Matheus Franca, Hodgson said: “I never judge players when the game is over.”
“The game was over at half time – it’s a wonderful time. “I’m pleased for them that they got a bit of football – it’s handy.”
“If I were them and you’re going to start writing how good they were in that 15 to 20 minutes, I would advise them not to read the newspapers.”
