Real Tamale United (RTU) captain, Baba Kushibo, has expressed shock and disbelief over the alleged player impersonation incident in the Ghana Premier League game against Dreams FC.
According to Kushibo, none of the registered players were present in Dawu to play the game, which RTU lost 8-1.
In an interview with Angel FM, Kushibo confirmed that all the registered players were in Tamale and did not travel to Dawu for the match. He also revealed that some of the registered players had even gone home due to issues with the team.
“What I can confirm is that none of the registered players were in Dawu to undertake that game”
“I just want to say that some people have certain perceptions of the Ghana league and they think sometimes certain things can be done. And yes, they really executed it,” Kushibo said, expressing his dismay at the situation.
The incident has sparked widespread controversy in the Ghana Premier League, with many calling for investigations and sanctions against RTU.
The league’s governing body, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has announced an investigation into the matter, which is expected to be completed soon.
