Hearts of Oak head coach, Martin Koopman, maintains his position that he is not to blame for the team’s struggles in the Ghana Premier League.
Since the start of the 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign, the Phobians have failed to meet expectations.
In five matches played, Hearts of Oak have only secured a single victory. With just one goal scored in five games, the capital-based club has suffered two losses and drawn the remaining two, landing them in the relegation zone.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Coach Martin Koopman emphasized that he is not the cause of the club’s difficulties. He went as far as stating that if he is indeed the problem, he wouldn’t mind being relieved of his duties.
“If I am Hearts of Oak’s problem, just give me the sack,” the Dutch tactician declared.
Following the goalless draw with Samartex FC last weekend, Coach Koopman pointed out that his wingers and attackers are struggling to find the net. He suggested that this issue is not exclusive to Hearts of Oak but is something Ghana’s national team is also grappling with.
This weekend, Coach Martin Koopman will be hoping that his team can secure a win against Bibiani Gold Stars.
