A stalwart of Colts football in Ghana and the owner of Kumasi-based Division Two side, Anokye Stars, Alhaji Sannie widely known as Sani Dendem has reportedly passed away in Kumasi, aged 75.
According to Kessben TV report, the sad event happened on Thursday, May 9, 2024 after battling illness.
Sannie started colts football when he was just 20 years and was 75 before his demise in 2024.
He has produced over 5000 players for Ghana out of which over 2500 have played for our various national teams and many clubs both local and foreign over a 48-year period.
Sannie has groomed many players such as Tony Yeboah, former Kotoko coach and player, Michael Osei, Isaac Kwakye and Isaac Boakye, both played for Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars, Stanley Aborah, Osei Barnes, Prince Opoku Polly, William Thompson and Kofi Owusu who all played for one national team or the other, former Kotoko winger Francis Akwaffo, former Hearts of Oak midfielders Kofi Abanga and Torric Jebrin, John Nyamekye, Bashiru Osman ‘Gambo’ who played for King Faisal, Kotoko and AshGold among others.
