Egypt captain Mohammed Salah has climbed higher in African football history after overtaking Didier Drogba on the all-time list of Africa’s highest international goalscorers.
Salah now has 66 international goals, moving past the Ivorian legend Drogba, who finished his international career with 65 goals. The achievement further cements Salah’s status as one of Africa’s greatest footballers of all time.
With this milestone, Salah now sits fourth on the all-time African international scorers chart. He is behind Zambia’s Godfrey Chitalu, who leads the list with 79 goals, followed by Kinnah Phiri with 71 goals, and Egypt legend Hossam Hassan with 69 goals.
Salah’s rise on the list reflects his consistency and long-term impact for Egypt. Over the years, he has been the driving force of the national team, delivering crucial goals in qualifiers, tournaments, and high-pressure matches.
Surpassing a legend like Didier Drogba is a major moment in African football history, and with Salah still active at international level, he could climb even higher on the list in the near future.
