Samuel Osei Kuffour, the resolute defender, has rekindled his affiliation with the former FA Cup champions as they gear up for the forthcoming 2023/24 season.
Bechem United, a prominent presence in the Ghana Premier League, has unveiled the return of their center-back, Samuel Osei Kuffour, subsequent to his loan stint with the Portuguese outfit FC Felgueiras.
In the preceding year, Osei Kuffour ventured beyond Ghanaian shores to secure a season-long loan arrangement with the Portuguese third-tier league club. His decision came on the heels of a remarkable performance during the 2021/22 season.
His contributions were pivotal to Bechem United’s achievements, securing the 1st runner-up position in the MTN FA Cup and finishing as 2nd runner-up in the Ghana Premier League, all before embarking on his loan experience in Portugal. Over the course of his time there, he accumulated 31 appearances and netted one goal.
The management and coaching staff of Bechem United expressed their elation at the return of the 21-year-old defender, foreseeing that he would infuse renewed perspectives and elevated skills into the team.
“Kuffour has shown tremendous growth during his loan spell, and we believe he will bring a fresh perspective and enhanced skills to our team. We warmly welcome him back and are excited to see him in action once again. With his return, we have enough experienced defenders such as Aaron Essel (Ghana U20, Ghana U23 & Black Galaxies), Joseph Kinful (Black Galaxies), Emmanuel Ababio and the general captain James Papa Yaw are more than capable to lead the defence and give a better performance in the upcoming season” said Mr. Kingsley Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive Officer.
Kuffour is slated to initiate training with Bechem United later this week under the guidance of their newly appointed coach, Bismark Kobi-Mensah.
