Sávio Moreira de Oliveira (born 10 April 2004), known as Savinho, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and the Brazil national team.

Early Life

Sávio Moreira de Oliveira, known as Savinho, was born on April 10, 2004, in São Mateus, Brazil. Growing up in a football-loving household, Savio’s passion for the sport was evident from a young age. His parents, recognizing his talent and dedication, supported his dream wholeheartedly. Savio honed his skills playing on the streets and fields near his humble home, setting the stage for his future success.

Atlético Mineiro (2021-2022): Savio quickly rose through Atlético Mineiro’s youth ranks and made his senior debut in the 2020-21 season.

Troyes (2022): In 2022, he moved to Troyes AC, a City Football Group club, to gain more experience.

PSV Eindhoven (Loan, 2022): A loan spell at PSV Eindhoven provided him with valuable playing time and development.

Girona FC (2023-2024): In 2023, Savio joined Girona FC in La Liga, where he made a significant impact with his speed, technical ability, and versatility.

Manchester City (2024-Present): In 2024, Savio signed a five-year contract with Manchester City, valid until June 2029.

International Career

Savinho was a member of the Brazil U15 team that won the 2019 South American U-15 Championship, during which he scored four goals. He was also called up to the team that participated in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he scored one goal in Brazil’s 6–0 group stage win over the Dominican Republic. Brazil won their group but was eventually eliminated by Israel in the quarter-finals.

On March 1, 2024, Savinho received his first call-up to the Brazil senior team for friendlies against England and Spain. He made his debut against England on March 23, 2024, which ended in a 1–0 victory. On June 28, 2024, he scored his first senior goal for Brazil in a 4–1 win against Paraguay in the 2024 Copa América group stage.

Savinho was born to Elinilma Pereira and Eder Santos. He grew up in a working-class family in Brazil, where resources were limited but sufficient. His family produced their own food, including milk from their cows. Despite their modest means, Savio’s family supported his football dreams wholeheartedly.
