Dutch outfit, SC Cambuur, have secured the signing of Ghanaian defender Jamal Amofa.
The Eerste Divisie side announced the acquisition of the Amsterdam-born player in an official statement on Wednesday, June 18.
“SC Cambuur strengthens itself with Jamal Amofa. And that’s four! SC Cambuur strikes again on the transfer market and has managed to tie Jamal Amofa to them for two seasons. The 26-year-old central defender comes over on a free transfer from the Bulgarian Botev Plovdiv,” the Dutch club said in its statement.
Jamal Amofa is no stranger to Dutch football. He made his breakthrough at ADO Den Haag, where he worked his way up from the reserves to a regular starter in the first team.
He made such an impression that he managed to force a transfer to Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles.
Last winter, he opted for an adventure in Bulgaria at Botev Plovdiv, and there too, he was an undisputed starter.
He is now returning to the Netherlands, where he will play for SC Cambuur. He will be expected to boost the squad of the team next season and help in their quest to secure promotion to the Eredivisie.
