Ghanaian midfielder, Daniel Kofi Kyereh has received a huge backing from his team-mates at German Bundesliga side Freiburg SC after suffering from a career-threatening injury.

This show of support by Kyereh’s team-mates happened ahead his side’s Bundesliga match-day 20 fixture against VFB Stuttgart on Saturday February 11, 2023.

Freiburg went on to win the game 2-1 despite going down 0-1 at the break.

Kofi-Kyereh, 26, sustained the injury which has forced him out of the season after an earlier scan by the SC Freiburg medical team.

The club later confirmed that, the mercurial playmaker will not be out of action for the rest of the season due to Cruciate Ligament injury

Having suffered this heartbreaking setback, his teammates when coming to the pitch for warm up wore a t-shirt with his jersey number and last name ‘Kyereh’ at the back to show him solidarity and support and also wish him the speediest recovery.

Daniel Kofi Kyereh joined the Brisgau Brazilians last summer from St Pauli and has made 18 appearances in the ongoing season in all competitions scoring three goals in the process.

He will miss Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for next month.
