Austrian Bundesliga side SCR Altach have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of 17-year-old attacking talent Gibson Adu, who joins on loan from Bayern Munich II.
The German-Ghanaian youngster has already started training with his new teammates and is determined to make an impact in Austria’s top flight.
Adu began his career at SC Lerchenberg before joining the FSV Mainz 05 academy. He later moved to SpVgg Unterhaching, where his progress earned him a move to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024. He spent last season back on loan at Unterhaching to continue his development.
Despite his age, Adu has already featured in 18 matches in Germany’s 3. Liga, showcasing his readiness for senior football. Now fully fit after a brief injury setback, he is eager to prove himself in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Altach Sporting Director Philipp Netzer expressed optimism about Adu’s arrival, highlighting his potential and adaptability.
“With Gibson Adu, we are getting a young player with interesting abilities who has already gained some experience in adult football. We will give him the time he needs to develop,” Netzer said.
Adu himself is excited by the challenge ahead:
“I’m really looking forward to my new role at SCR Altach and have set myself the goal of making my first Bundesliga appearances as soon as possible,” he noted.
