Senegal have confirmed international friendly games against Gabon and Benin Republic in the forthcoming March international window.

The 2021 African champions will first play Gabon in the French city of Amiens on March 22 before facing Benin on March 26 in the same city.

The Teranga Lions will hope to bounce back from the shock AFCON 2023 defeat to Ivory Coast in the round of 16.

The games are also part of preparations for Aliou Cisse’s men to get ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

The Senegalese FA announced that: ”Senegal will play two friendly matches in March 2024 at the Stade de la Licorne, in Amiens, France: March 22 against Gabon and March 26 against Benin”.

The last encounter between Benin and Senegal was during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the Cheetahs held the Teranga Lions to a 1-1 draw in June 2023 while the last encounter against Gabon ended in a 1-0 win for the former African champions in January 2015.

Senegal currently lead their World Cup qualifying group with four points after two matches, though they are level on four points with second-placed Sudan.

They will resume competitive action against the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mauritania in June.
