It was all smiles for the Al Ahly head coach, Marcel Koller, in the pre-match conference ahead of the Simba clash on Friday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League.
In the mandatory press meeting, the 63-year-old praised Simba for being competitive but expressed his optimism in his team.
“Simba is a strong competitor”, we have confidence in the team members and we strive to give our best in tomorrow’s match,” said Marcell Koller.
The Swiss coach knows how difficult Simba SC is as a team. In the 2023 African Football League, Al Ahly played against Simba SC in the quarter-finals and both fixtures were draw. It was 2-2 in Tanzania and 1-1 in Egypt with the Egyptians progressing on the away goal rule.
Marcel Koller expressed his confidence in his side as he believes they can record a good scoreline.
Simba hosts Al Ahly at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Tanzania on Friday at 6 pm in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
