SKU Amstetten has announced the signing of Ghanaian striker Charles-Jesaja Herrmann, formerly of VfL Wolfsburg U17. The 24-year-old joins the Austrian 2. Liga team from SV Waldhof Mannheim in Germany.
At 1.90 meters tall, Herrmann is expected to strengthen Amstetten’s attacking options for the upcoming season. The club stated, “Charles-Jesaja Herrmann from SV Waldhof Mannheim to SKU Ertl Glas Amstetten. He will bolster our attack, having played 21 matches in the 3rd division last season and scoring three goals.”
Herrmann’s football career began at Hannover 96 before progressing through VfL Wolfsburg’s youth system, where he earned 26 caps for Germany’s junior national teams (U15 to U19). He later moved to KV Kortrijk in Belgium’s top division in 2021, then to NAC Breda in the Dutch second division, and joined Mannheim in 2023.
The striker is also the son of former Ghana international Charles Kwablan Akonnor and is still eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
Amstetten has warmly welcomed Herrmann and is hopeful for his success with the team.
