Former Liverpool and Newcastle manager Graeme Souness says he is surprised why as to why Eddie Nketiah wants to leave Arsenal.
Souness believes Nketiah was the best player on the pitch in the gunners 2-1 win over West Ham in the London derby on Sunday and he has questioned why the striker is eager to move away.
“Nketiah, I thought, was the best player on the pitch on Sunday. He was always threatening. He had a couple of shots when he came in with his right foot, made the goalkeeper work.
“He always wants to run forward, run forward for the ball. That stretches the defenders, becomes ideal for a midfield player.
“His contract’s about to run out, I’m amazed with that, I really am. He will not be short of teams wanting him. He was a threat throughout. I really like him, I thought, today, he was fabulous.” He added
Nketiah’s contract expires on June 30, 2022 and he has already rejected a fresh deal from Arsenal as he wants to move out.
