Ghanaian goalkeeper David Akologo has caught the attention of the South American nation, Bolivia, who are considering a potential switch in nationality for the talented shot-stopper.
Akologo, who hails from Accra, has been delivering outstanding performances for Aurora in the Bolivian league. He has managed to keep seven clean sheets in nine matches this season.
His recent exceptional performance against Bolivian giants Bolivar, where officials from the Bolivian national team were in attendance, further highlighted his capabilities.
Ghanasoccernet report that Akologo’s agent has been in contact regarding the possibility of him representing Bolivia. Speaking to reporters after his impressive showing against Bolivar, Akologo expressed gratitude and openness to the idea of playing for the South American nation:
“Of course, if the opportunity comes, I am grateful to Bolivia, with my heart, with my strength I will always support Bolivia. Aurora gave me the opportunity, if she had not given me the opportunity I would not be here, Aurora is great.”
However, despite the interest from Bolivia, Akologo remains undecided and is leaning towards the possibility of representing the national team of Ghana. At 25 years old, Akologo has spent a significant portion of his career in South America, playing for clubs like Cochabamba, Aurora, and CD FATIC.
