South Korea head coach Hong Myung-bo says his team is aiming to end the year on a strong note as they prepare to face Ghana in an international friendly on Tuesday at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The match will be the final outing of the November international window for both sides. Although South Korea and Ghana have already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Hong believes the fixture remains important as part of their long-term preparations.
Speaking at his pre-match briefing, the Korean coach said his players are expected to deliver a confident performance to wrap up the season. He noted that the team set clear targets for their November games and hopes they complete them successfully.
Hong confirmed that first-choice goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu and defender Lee Myung-jae will miss the game due to minor muscle issues, but stressed that the rest of the squad is in good shape.
The two nations last met at the 2022 World Cup, where Ghana beat Korea 3–2 in a dramatic Group H encounter. Their head-to-head record remains close, with Ghana winning four meetings and Korea winning three.
Hong added that his tactical setup for the game has already been finalized, explaining that the key focus will be how well the players adapt and work together on the pitch.
The match is expected to offer both teams another chance to test their systems ahead of next year’s World Cup.
