Southampton has received a significant boost as Kamaldeen Sulemana’s red card has been overturned by the English Football Association following the club’s appeal.
The Ghanaian international, who was returning from a knee injury, was shown a red card in Southampton’s disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Leicester City in the English Championship on Friday night.
The 21-year-old speedy forward received a straight red card during stoppage time for a challenge on James Justin. However, this decision has now been reversed following Southampton’s appeal.
Southampton’s coach, Russell Martin, confirmed Kamaldeen Sulemana’s availability after the successful appeal in a pre-match interview ahead of their upcoming game against Ipswich Town.
“Jan Bednarek is back in the squad, and we won our appeal with Kamaldeen, so Kamaldeen is in the squad, which is good news,” Martin stated.
Kamaldeen Sulemana will be included in Southampton’s squad for their match in week seven against Ipswich Town at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
