Malaga has announced that Lumor Agbenyenu will no longer be competing for the blue and white division due to disciplinary reasons.
The club released a brief statement, stating that they have terminated their professional relationship with the player and released him from his contract with MCF, effective from Wednesday.
Lumor had joined Malaga in October 2022 as a result of Victor Olmo’s injury, with the approval of the then-coach and sports director, Pepe Mel and Manolo Gaspar.
However, during the Christmas break, the club began to investigate the player’s behavior, as he went missing before returning late in December. Pepe Mel was not satisfied with his conduct, and Malaga began to explore options to move him away.
Upon the arrival of Pellicer at Martiricos, Lumor was invited back to the team but has been absent from team meetings in recent weeks. Despite appearing in three games, including one in the Copa del Rey in Ibiza versus Pena Deportiva, his time with Malaga will be best remembered for scoring the winning goal in the penalty shootout that advanced the Blue and Whites to the next round.
