Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng Gyabaa’s loan spell at Spanish lower-tier club SD Huesca has been extended for the upcoming season.
The 26-year-old initially joined the club on a six-month loan deal from Real Oviedo in January 2023, and his exceptional performance during that period caught the attention of the club’s management.
Obeng impressed with his skills, netting 5 goals in 17 appearances for SD Huesca in the second half of the Segunda Division, leaving a lasting impact on the team. In light of his contributions, they have now decided to extend his loan spell for the entire 2023/24 season.
The former Black Meteors striker has officially signed a fresh one-year loan deal with Huesca, and an added bonus is the inclusion of a purchase option at the end of the upcoming season.
This arrangement solidifies Obeng’s role in the Spanish second-tier league campaign, where he is expected to play a pivotal part.
His current contract with Real Oviedo is set to run until the summer of 2025, and his market value is currently estimated at €1m.
