Toulouse FC’s sporting director, Viktor Bezhani, believes the club has secured one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe with the signing of Ghana international Abu Francis.
Speaking after the 24-year-old’s arrival from Belgian side Cercle Brugge, Bezhani said Francis fits perfectly into the club’s long-term strategy of building a strong, competitive team for Ligue 1.
“We are very pleased with Abu’s arrival in our squad,” Bezhani said. “He is a very versatile midfielder who brings a lot to both ends of the pitch.”
Bezhani explained that the technical team had been monitoring Francis for some time, impressed by his ability to combine defensive aggression with intelligent ball control and game management.
“He’s not just a runner. He can dictate the tempo of the game, pick the right passes, and help us transition quickly from defence to attack. That’s exactly what we need,” he noted.
Describing Abu’s box-to-box style as “ideal for Ligue 1,” Bezhani stressed the importance of signing players who can handle the physical and tactical demands of French football.
“Ligue 1 is one of the most intense leagues in Europe. Abu has the physicality, the mental drive, and the technical quality to succeed here.”
