The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has assured that President John Dramani Mahama has been fully backing the budget for the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifying campaign.
Discussions around the budget for Ghana’s senior national football team have often attracted controversy. However, Mr. Adams has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing the necessary resources.
During a visit to the Black Stars’ training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, March 17, 2025, he emphasized that the ministry, with the president’s support, would ensure the team is well-equipped for their upcoming qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
“We will support whatever we have to do, and the president is supporting us to ensure we take care of the necessary things,” Mr. Adams stated.
Currently, the Black Stars sit second in their qualifying group with nine points from four matches. Winning the next two games will be crucial in strengthening their chances of securing a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
