Kofi Idi Adams, the Minister of Youth and recreation, has lauded actor and sports entrepreneur Yaw Dabo for his growing contributions to grassroots football development in Ghana through the Dabo Soccer Academy.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, the minister described Dabo as a “visionary” whose work reflects deep belief in Ghanaian youth and the transformative power of sports.

He said what began as Dabo’s personal initiative has evolved into a nationwide movement reaching children in remote areas and orphanages.

According to the minister, the Dabo Soccer Academy is providing underserved children with access not only to football training but also to education, structure, and dignity.

He praised Dabo for investing in young talent at the grassroots level an area he said is often overlooked despite its importance to national sports development.

“I am deeply moved by his commitment to unearthing raw potential and offering these young talents not just a place to play, but a platform to grow,” Mr. Adams wrote.

The minister emphasized that Dabo stands out as someone who takes action rather than making empty promises, noting that his dedication is helping “rewrite the story of Ghanaian youth.”

He also called on the public to celebrate individuals who are using sport as a tool for social change and national development.

“Let us celebrate those building bridges where others see barriers,” he said, adding that Dabo’s efforts demonstrate that meaningful impact does not require permission—only purpose.

“Ayeeko, Yaw Dabo,” the minister concluded, commending him for his continued service to the country’s youth.
