Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has expressed confidence in the current Black Princesses squad, praising their progress and potential to surpass previous generations.

The Ghana U-20 women’s team recently advanced past South Africa with a 3–2 aggregate win in the third round of qualifiers, setting up a decisive clash against Uganda for a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland later this year.

Mensah acknowledged challenges within the team but highlighted improvements in player cohesion and technical guidance. She noted that players have been kept in camp since late last year to build chemistry and gain more playing experience.

“The technical team is very much aware of some of these hitches, and so they are doing everything possible,” Mensah said. “The team as we have today is a better team than before, if you ask me.”

She also commended the leadership of Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, and the administration of President John Dramani Mahama for their commitment to supporting Ghanaian sports.

With the final qualifier against Uganda approaching, expectations are high that this generation of Black Princesses could secure a World Cup ticket and set a new benchmark for Ghana’s U-20 women’s football on the international stage.
