Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, has praised the team’s performance despite suffering back-to-back defeats in their international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
The Black Stars lost 2-0 to Japan at the Toyota Stadium and later fell 1-0 to South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, ending the November international break without a victory as part of their preparations for the 2026 World Cup, to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking after the games, Appiah said he was impressed with the players’ fight and improvement, especially in the second match.
He noted that although the results were disappointing, the performance showed strong effort and gave opportunities to players who had been in camp for months but rarely featured in matches.
The Black Stars are expected to regroup in March to continue their World Cup preparations, and they will discover their group opponents on December 5.
