Alexander Djiku, the Ghanaian defender, is determined to secure a victory for Strasbourg in their upcoming away match against Troyes in the French Ligue 1.
As Strasbourg continues their battle for survival, they will face Troyes in the 36th matchday. Currently positioned 14th in the league standings with 38 points with three matches to end the season, Djiku remains optimistic about avoiding relegation.
“We don’t feel any specific pressure. We are preparing for the match with full commitment from everyone. It’s just like any other game, but we want to deliver our best performance,” Djiku stated during a pre-match interview.
“Undoubtedly, winning is crucial. The competition is intense, and it’s not over yet. A victory can significantly improve our situation. This match could be decisive, although it also depends on the outcomes of other matches.”
Throughout the season, the 28-year-old has appeared in 30 matches in the French top-flight, contributing with one goal and two assists.
In the meantime, Djiku’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and it is expected that he will leave this summer. Reports suggest that clubs from England and Spain have shown interest in the talented center-back, with Leeds and Sevilla among the clubs linked with Djiku.
