Super Eagles B coach, Salisu Yusuf believes that the penalty decision which was awarded against his team on Sunday in the CHAN qualifiers was a harsh one.
The Black Galaxies clinched a 2-0 victory over Nigeria in Cape Coast on Sunday thanks to a penalty from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and a strike from Suraj Seidu.
They have the advantage going into the second leg which will take place in Nigeria on Saturday.
Speaking after the game, Yusuf believed the penalty decision for Barnieh’s goal was harsh.
“The penalty was really a big blow to my team because there was a commotion there. The referee was a little bit harsh on that penalty and that got our players arguing,” he said.
“We tried to come back, created some moments and we still fought and so I think is football so we will work hard to see how we can consider two goals in Nigeria.”
Ghana have not played in the CHAN tournament since 2014.
