Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC are eyeing the signature of Ghanaian defender Ibrahim Imoro on a free transfer, as they seek to bolster their squad for the remainder of the 2023–24 season’s campaign.
Imoro, a talented left-back, has emerged as a top transfer target for Young Africans SC during this transfer window. The 24-year-old recently terminated his contract with Sudanese side Al Hilal due to political unrest in the region, making him available for a move.
Officials of Young Africans SC have initiated negotiations with Imoro, aiming to secure his services to strengthen their squad for upcoming challenges in the Tanzania Premier League.
Despite being unattached since leaving Al Hilal in July 2023 and experiencing a failed move to South African side Chippa United last year, Imoro remains a sought-after talent.
Previously linked with a return to the Ghana Premier League with Asante Kotoko, negotiations fell through due to contractual issues. However, Young Africans SC now present a promising opportunity for Imoro to reignite his career.
Imoro boasts significant experience in the Ghana Premier League, having made over 70 appearances for Asante Kotoko, Bolga All Stars, and Karela United. His standout performances earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team, where he has been capped three times for the Black Stars.
During his tenure at Asante Kotoko, Imoro played a pivotal role in the club’s league triumph during the 2021/22 season, showcasing his defensive prowess and attacking capabilities from the left-back position.
