Tariq Lamptey says he is looking forward to regaining his full fitness after being left out of the latest Black Stars team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chris Hughton announced a 24-man squad for the final road game against Madagascar next month, with Ernest Nuamah the lone newcomer.
Quizzed on getting to know he is not part of the squad, the 22-year-old said: “I am just currently working hard to get back to full fitness.”
“Hopefully I can help the boys [in future] but good luck to them in the next few games.”
The Brighton and Hove Albion defender was absent from Hughton’s squad and will miss a second international window after suffering an injury during the Black Stars’ doubleheader against Angola in March.
