United Soccer League (USL) Championship side Texoma FC have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Solomon Asante for the 2025 season.
The 34-year-old joins Texoma FC after spending seven years in the USL, where he established himself as one of the league’s standout players. He is expected to play a key role in the newly expanded club.
Texoma FC President Ben Watson expressed his excitement about the signing, stating:
“Solomon is a special player and is an incredible announcement for any club. We are blessed to be welcoming a player that has won virtually every accolade across the USL.”
Head coach Adrian Forbes also praised Asante’s impact and leadership qualities, adding:
“You look at the career he has had, the awards he has won throughout his USL career—I am incredibly excited to have him as a part of the team. Besides being a goalscoring and attacking threat, he is a fantastic human being who will be looking to guide and mentor our younger attackers to follow in his footsteps.”
Asante is a two-time USL Player of the Year, a recognition he earned during his time with Phoenix Rising. He also had stints with Indy Eleven and Las Vegas Lights, making him one of the most experienced and decorated players in the league.
Now at Texoma FC, he will be aiming to bring his experience and leadership to help the club succeed in the 2025 season.
