Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has pledged to enhance the standards at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
The GFA is channeling part of Ghana’s 2022 World Cup prize money into improving the facility, which serves as the cornerstone for its coaching education programs.
A key aspect of this initiative includes the construction of a new 40-bed accommodation facility, specifically designed to house national teams, with an emphasis on the senior men’s team, the Black Stars. This new accommodation aims to meet four-star quality standards, comparable to those used by teams during their training camps.
Okraku shared his ambitious vision to develop the area into a state-of-the-art sporting complex that will nurture and showcase local talent. “The FA will do whatever it takes to raise the standards of the facility we have here,” he stated. “And I think that what we have, even though it’s not the finished article yet, gives all of us hope that our ambition will be realised. I mean, the accommodation is top-notch. The environment is clean.”
Additionally, Okraku announced plans for further investments, including the construction of a new multipurpose court. Earlier this week, it was also reported that the GFA is renting out accommodation facilities to the general public, providing an additional revenue stream while promoting the center’s use.
