Ghanaian youngster Lawrence Agyekum claims that the match between WAFA and Hearts of Oak in the final game of the 2020–21 season was his best game while playing in the Ghana Premier League.
The season in question saw WAFA achieve their best third-place finish in Ghana’s top division since their league inception, making history.
The Academy team needed to win on the final day of the regular season to clinch that position as they were closely followed by Aduana Stars.
A blistering performance from Agyekum inspired WAFA to a 1-0 victory over Hearts who eventually won the league.
“The last game when the league was ending against Hearts of Oak,” he JoySports in an interview.
“We won 1-0. We needed a victory in that game so we could seal the third position. I really tormented them. I gave them nightmares.”
Agyekum now plays in Austria after signing for RB Salzburg in February last year.
